Electromagnetic Properties and Morphology of Ag-Sheathed Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O Superconducting Wires

The critical current density (J_c) in Ag-sheathed Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconducting wire increased to 17,400A/cm^2 in a zero magnetic field. The magnetic field dependence of J_c was improved according to the increase of J_c in a zero magnetic field. Fine, dispersed, nonsuperconducting phases were observed through SEM and TEM. These phases are expected to act as pinning sites.
