Influences of Nb Addition on Superconducting Properties in Bi, Pb-Sr-Ca-Cm-0 Glass-Ceramics

The influences of Nb addition on superconducting properties in Bi, Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-0 glass-ceramics were investigated. The glass-forming tendency decreased as Nb contents increased, and a superconducting phase appeared even in asquenched bodies. The T_c(onset) and T_c(end) were strongly dependent on the Nb concentration, and the highest T_c(end) was 102 K for Bi_<1.6>Pb_<0.4>Nb_<0.2>Sr_<1.9>Ca_2Cu_3O_x. The increase of T_c is basically related to the change in melting points caused by the addition of Nb.
