Effect of Iron-Group-Ion Doping on the Properties of BaTiO_3 Ceramics : Fundamentals

The changes of the Curie temperatures of BaTiO_3 ceramics doped with Fe, Ni, Cu and Nb were measured from the shifts of the peaks in the permittivity- temperature curves. The corresponding changes of the electrical conductivity were evaluated from the frequency and temperature dependence of the dielectric losses. The various possible causes of the phenomena of the T_c-change were discussed.
