Composition Effects on Properties of the Perovskite Superconductor Ba (Pb,Bi) O_3

Compositional change of the superconducting transition temperature T. has beenexamined for the hot-pressed ceramics of (Ba, Sr)(Pb, Bi)0, and Ba(Sn, Pb, Bi)0,.Results for both systems are summarized as the T. contour maps of respective com-position diagrams, which proved to be highly anisotropic with respect to compositioncoordinates. Temperature dependence of the normal resistivity, the Hall coefficient,and the lattice constant were also measured as function of composition. These resultsare discussed in connection with the T. characteristics, and also with the previouslyreported pressure effect shown by these materials.
