Effect of Hetero-Valent-Ion Doping in the High T_c Y-Ba-Cu-O Superconductor

Effect of hetero-valent-ion (Ce and La) doping on the resistive transition of the high T_c superconductor Y_<0.33>Ba_<0.67>CuO_n or Y_<0.37>Ba_<0.63>CuO_n has been investigated. The midpoint of the resistive transition is found to decrease and the width to increase, with increase of the doping. Unstable resistive anomaly at a higher temperature is also observed.
