The ClO_2 radical was obtained from many reaction systems (Ti^<3+>-NaClO_3,Ti^<3+>-NaClO_2 and H_2SO_4-NaClO_2) in aqueous solutions. The formation of the ClO_2 radical was detected by means of the rapid-mixing flow technique coupled with electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements.
