The unknown male of Trigona (Trigonella) moorei SCHWARZ and the worker and male of a second consubgeneric species T. (T.) lieftincki sp. nov. from Sumatra are described. Trigonella is very different from the superficially similar Tetragonula in specialized hind tibia and terminalia of males. Some notes are added to the reduction of spatha in male genitalia of Tetragonula.
