When the dortainant scattering mechanisrn is optical phonon eumission, the application of' ap-propriately intense microxvave fields is expected to catrse an acctrttatrlated distribtution of carriersill utaonaenttmaaa space azad related pectrliar phenotauena, as described in a previous paper xvhichtreated trstral bulk serauicondtrctors. It is shown here that the carrier accumttlation efl'ect is 11101(116pronotrnced in one-dimensional systems in the direction of the taaicrowave fields, becatrse of theabsence of transverse degrees of freedom. Comptrtations are nuade for electrons in GaAs crystalsconfined by strong naagnetic fields of l2x24 T- The restults slaoxv that peculiar do field responsesincluding absolute negative resistance are expected tnnder realistic experirnental conditions, e.g.in sarnples with rnore than 10" Clll ' charged itmptrrity concentration.
