A disconnection transition is a phase transition which acconupanies a change in the connect-edness of the fermi sea. The existence of strch a transition is established in the context of aone-dimensional interacting model. The model considered is an extension of the delta functionbose gas in which its foturth order conservation law is added to the original harniltonian. For lowdensity, the ground state of the znodel consists of two separated fermi seas and there are twodistinct branches of excitations. At a critical density, one branch of excitations disappears, andthere is a second order phase transition to a single fermi sea ground state.
