Dynamic Stabilization of Flute Instability

The problem on dynamic stabilization of plasma has been treated. The stabilityis considered under the condition that the plasma is divided to two regions. Thedestabilizing force is gravitational force and E x B rotation and the stability issought by the ponderomotive force by rf electric field of co..:a.j perpendicularto magnetic field. It is found that the low frequency electro-static waves arestabilized by rf field in case that the rf electric field can penetrate only in theperipheral region. The effect of the dynamic stabilization is experimentallyinvestigated and discussed.
