A dynamical lattice model is presented to simulate fracture of brittle materialscaused by quenching. With this model, relations between fracture patterns and fern-perature difference in quenching are investigated. It is found that as the temperaturedifference increases, a tree-like (a few branched) pattern suddenly changes into a net-like (many branched) pattern.
