Nonthermal Titanium Kα Spectra from Lower-Hybrid-Current-Driven Plasmas in the JIPPT-IIU Tokamak

Nonthermal spectra of full titanium Ka lines have been successfully measured fromplasmas with suprathermal electrons generated by lower-hybrid waves in the JIPPT-IIU tokamak using a compact and wide-band crystal spectrometer. Increase in totalintensities of the all Ka lines has been observed at decreasing electron densities below7 X 10" cm ' and strong Kcx emissions from partially Xi-shell-ionized tons are found.These results suggest the spectra are strongly characterized by the nonthermalplasma. Analysis is carried out under assumptions of some radial profiles of thesuprathermal electrons. As a result, the spectra can be explained by the inner-shellionization due to the suprathermal electrons.current drive, tokamak, crystal spectrometer, Kcv X-rays, inner-shell excitation
