Magnetostriction constants, 2.0. and )..., of Pd. .Fe.were measured in the com-position range of 0.1<,v<0.6 by using a three-terminal capacitance method. Almostall specimens were quenched. Temperature was varied from 77 K to roomtemperature and magnetic field was applied up to 15 kOe. Composition dependenceof both constants showed a minimum at ,v:0.17, where an abrupt change was ob-served on a cubic anisotropy constant K.. In the composition range of ,v<0.15 2...and 1... have different sign (1...>0) with each other, while both of them are positivefor x>0.1. The composition dependence of calculated mean value 2=(2/5)2...-f(3/5)2... was similar to the previous report on polycrystalline samples presented bySchmidt and Berger.
