The temr>erature der>endence of forced volume masnetostriction da/d H forNi.-.Cr. alloys (,c<0.1) has been measured by strain gauge technique. Thevalues of dco/dH for Ni, 1.9 and 3.9 at '%Cr -Ni change their sign from positiveto nenative at 7'/7'.=0.7, 0.75 and 0.85, resrectivelv. Those for other Ni -Cralloys measured are positive at all temperatures. The pressure coefficients of themannetic moment r>er unit mass at 0 K, d In o,o/clt, determined from the r>resentdata by using thermodynamic relations are all negative and become larger in theabsolute value with increasing ,v. These results suggest that the s-d transfer isdominant according to Mathon's procedure based on the itinerant electronmodel. The pressure derivatives of T., dT./dp, obtained from the present dataagree with direct measurements and their sign changes from positive to negativeat about 6 at 3Cr-Ni with increasing x.
