Pressure Effects Estimated from Forced Volume Magnetostriction for Ni-M (M=Ti,V) Alloys

The temperature dependence of forced volume magnetostriction c3co/dH forNit .Ti, (,v<0.1) and Nit .V. (,v<0.08) allovs has been measured usin: the3-terminal capacitance method. The values of dco/ciH for Ni -8 at '3Ti-Ni and- 6 at '%V -Ni alloys change their sign from positive to negative with raising thetemperature. Pressure coefficients, din jt/dp and din T./dp, have been deducedfrom the temperature dependence of c3co/cJH using the thermodynamical and theKornetzki-Kouvel relations. The relation between two pressure coefficients aboveare analysed according to Inoue and Shimizu's discussion. The values of thecoefficient C/z.,T. obtained decrease gradually from 2 to 1 with decreasing T.toward 0 K for both alloy systems.
