The specific heat of GeTe was measured by the relaxation-time method between 2and 10 K for single crystals of mass 20 - 40 mg. The Debye temperature e.(o) at 0 Kwas estimated to be 147 K. However, an anomalous excess specific heat near 3 Kpreviously reported was not confirmed. From the electronic specific heat and the carrier concentration, the density-of-states effective mass was obtained to be 0.77m..
