Weakly nonlinear long waves are investigated on a coupled trauasunission linewhich consists of two LC ladder lizaes connected 1>y intermediary capacitors. Itis found that there may exist two possible rnodes (fasst and slow) on such a coupledline. Each anode is governed, in general, by a respective Korteweg-do Vries(K-dV) equation. For the slow naode, however, the cc>efficjent of the nonlnnear termin K-dV equation does vanish when characteristic paratneters take critical values.The slow mode is then described by an equation of 31 con'xbined forna of K-d&/ andnaodified K-dV equation, which aduaaits shock wav'e solutiota in addition to theusual solitary wave solution. These results SIIOW t,hat there is a strong analogybetween the present waves and Iouag gravity waves can a two-layer fluid.
