The behavior of dovnble vortex sheets is exanained btu the linear ttnalysis f'or applying the vortextnethod to a fluid sheet in a sturrounding fltrid. The result shows that the flow velocities of thefltrid sheet and surrotrnding fluid are tmniquely specified dtre to the indtrced velocity on the vortexsheets. Then, the dispersion relations of disturbances on the vortex sheets for the antisyrtnmetric(sinuotrs) and syrnrnetric (btrlge) rnodes are f'otnnd to be exatctly coincident with those from thepotetatial theory.
