Effects of the long range Coulomb interaction and the distribution of Br atomsare investigated on the charge density wave of KCP in connection with theexperimental finding of long correlation length along the chain, 4, even at relativelyhigh temperatures. It is shown that the Coulomb interaction increase 4 appre-ciably, though experimental data indicates longer l; than the theoretical estimate.In order to explain the experiment it is, then, argued based on the work of Kondoand Yamaji that the density correlation of Br atoms has large 4Ap-component,which leads to the commensurability pinning of the CDW through higher har-monics. This argument qualitatively explains the experimental data of the phonongap and the pinning frequency at low temperatures.
