The F-Center Emission in LiCl

F-center omission has been studied in zone-refined Li(Cl crystals irradiatedwith electrons at LNT. Two emission bands witch peaks at [.56 and 2.3] eV areobserved by the excitation with F-band light. The 1.56-eV entission band has beenassigned to be the F-center omission from its excitation sjcectrum, temperaturevariation of the omission intensity, decay curve and polarization. The opticalparameters were determined as follows: effective frequency a.t3 x 10" sec-',decay time at LHeT r=].53 qsec and thermal ionization cnergy AE:0.04 eV.
