An X-ray study has been made for Rb.Cd.(SO.). crystals and the superlatticereflections are found in both ferroelectric phases. The crystal symmetries of the twoferroelectric phases were determined to be monoclinic Cj(P2.) and triclinic Cl(PI) asthe temperature was decreased. The lattice parameters were measured as a function oftemperature by the Bond method. The cell parameters are determined withoutconsideration of the superlattice structure as a=I0.3482-F-0.0005A,b=10.343O-l-0.0005A, c=10.3475-F-0.0005A, /lj=90.04-F-0.006' and a=7=90-l-0.006' at -150'C, and a=10.3392-F-0.0005A, b=10.3330-f0.0005A,c=10.3382-F-0.00O5A, /lj=90.038l-0.006', a=89.988-l-0.006' and 7=S9.979A-0.006'at - 190'C. The phase transition T' - Cj is accompanied by the lattice modulations oftwo types the periods of which are 2 times and 3 times the spacing.
