Anomalous Changes of Structural Parameters at T_c in the Superconductor Ba_<0.7>K_<0.3>BiO_3

We report the results of an X-ray scattering study of the structure of Ba_<0.7>K_<0.3>BiO_3 as a function of temperature. We found that the lattice symmetry changes from cubic to tetragonal at about 250 K, and there is an anomaly in lattice constants near the superconducting transition. Furthermore, an abrupt change of an overall isotropic thermal parameter was found just at the superconducting transition. Our results suggest that the electron system strongly couples to the lattice system.
