Magnetic susceptibility of Li.Zn. .V.0. was measured in a temperature range 80to 300 K. It is believed that a metal-insulator transition occurs in this system. Nevertheless the susceptibility obeyed the Curie-Weiss law in the whole composition range. The effective Bohr magneton number p and the Weiss temperature 0 were very largefor ZnV.O. and p=5.4 per molecule and 0=99O K. They decreased rapidly with an in-crease in Li content toward the metal-insulator transition. In the region where the ox-ide is metallic, the change was gradual. The rapid decrease in the insulator region wasattributed to the dielectric screening by mobile electrons.
