Anomalous Deceleration of Light Ion Beam in Plasma of Inertial Confinement Fusion

The ion beam rror>asation in inertial confinement fusion b't liuht ion beamis analvsed. The anomalous deceleration of the beam ion occurs, when the beamincludins the electron interacts with the backsround r>lasma with a comparablenumber density. This deceleration is caused by the two stream instability betweer=(the beam and the background plasma electrons and then becomes maximum wheneach densit>r is ecnuivalent. The anomalous deceleration rate of the beam ton iscomputed by using the qusilinear theory. It is shown that the anomalous decelera-tion which the beam ton (10" cm-') accer>ts from the backxround r:>[asma (10"cm-') is equivalent to the classical one from the background plasma with soliddensity (IQ" cm-').
