Acceleration of Electrons by Resonance Field in Laster-Irradiated Target

On the basis of linear theory, the increase in the kinetic energy is analyzedfor electrons which are accelerated by the resonance field in the l?tser-irradiatedtarget. The duration of a constant resonance-field energy and the dynamicalbalance between the ponderomotive force and the pressure gradient near theresonance point lead us a relation among the temperature of fast electrons, thelaser-power flux and the background-electron temperature. It is SIIOWII that thegeneration of fast electrons is suppressed when a suitable conciition is keptbetween the background-electron temperature and the Baser-power '[1ux.
