Doppler profiles of the He II line from a small theta pinch plasma are measured to obtain ion temperature, and the fiuctuating fields in the plasma are also measured under the same experimental condition. Fast heating and thermarization are observed when strong turbulence induced at early stage of the implosion phase is rapidly decaying.
