Oscillations of plasma density as well as of magnetic field with a frequency of 〜3 MHz are observed in a linear pinch plasma by using laser scattering and a magnetic probe. These two oscillations are found to be almost out of phase. The MHD equations are solved numerically to explain the phase relation. Close agreeement is found between the calculated results and the observerd ones. The average electron density n_<e0> is 〜3×10^<21>m^<-3>, and the electron temperature is 〜25 eV at the center of the plasma column.
