海岸クロマツ林に生育するアカメガシワ(Mallotus japonicus (Thunb.) Muell. Arg.)とハゼノキ(Rhus succedanea L.)の分布様式

先駆性の陽樹で，種子による有性繁殖と根萌芽による無性繁殖を行うアカメガシワ（Mallotus japonicus（Thunb.）Mue11．Arg．）と，種子による有性繁殖を行うハゼノキ（Rhus succedanea L．）の2種の分布様式を海岸クロマツ林において比較した．両樹種の分散構造を森下の$ I_{\delta} $値を用いて比較したところ，両樹種ともに集中分布を示した．特にアカメガシワはハゼノキよりも強い集中分布を示した．アカメガシワで強い集中分布を示したのは，樹高2．Om未満の個体が狭い範囲に連続的に発生したことに起因しており，このような集中度の高い分布様式は，アカメガシワの根萌芽更新によるものと推察された．また，両樹種の生育範囲を比較した結果，ハゼノキはアカメガシワよりも広い生育範囲を持っていた，このことからハゼノキはアカメガシワよりも有利な実生更新特性を持っていると考えられた．Mallotus japonicus (Thunb.) Muell. Arg. has two reproductive systems which are characterized by seedlings and root sprouts, and Rhus succedanea L. has seedling reproductive system, respectively. We compared the distribution patterns of these two species growing in the coastal black pine forest. The dispersion structures were contagious in two species, but the dispersion structure of M. japonicus was more contagious than that of R. succedanea. The contagious dispersion of M, japonicus was caused by the continuous emergence of small size individuals less than 2.0 m height in smaller area. It is assumed that these distributional characteristics of the M. japonicus was the result of root sprout regeneration. Individuals of R. succedanea were distributed over more large area than those of M. japonicus. This suggests that R. succedanea may have a more efficient mechanism than M. japonicus on seedling regeneration in this study site.
