Microscopic Cluster Model for the ^9_∧Be Hypernucleus

• The microscopic α+α+∧ cluster model is applied to describe the low-lying positive and negative parity states of ^8_∧Be. The ground rotational band shows a weak coupling behavior between ∧ and ~9Be, while the negative parity states how a strong-coupling type band structure with K=0^- and K=1^-. The ∧ binding energy in the ground state agrees very well with the observed value. The K=0^- and K=1^- band-head energies are in good correspondence to the ^9Be(K^-,π^-)^9_∧Be reaction data. Spectroscopic factors for the ∧+^8Be andα+ ^5_∧He channels are evaluated. Electric quadrupole transition probabilities B(E2) are predicted.
