Time evolution of convection in a rectangular box heated from below is studied using a 48-mode system which involves nonlinear temperature dependent density. For a certain set of the model parameters values, with an increase of the Reyleigh number, the motion undergoes a transition to chaos through successive period-doubling bifurcations.
