In this paper we focus on the behavior of fully developed traveling wave convection in a rectangular channel (Γ_x = 2, ψ = -0.11) with lateral flow. We first derive the perturbation equations for fully developed traveling wave convection with lateral flow. Then we numerically solve these equations under laterally periodic boundary conditions using the MAC method. The result shows that the amplitude of the convection rolls decreases and the phase velocity increases significantly as the intensity of lateral flow, Re, is increased. The upper branch of the bifurcation curves is similar to that for Rayleigh-Benard convection in binary fluid mixtures, but stationary overturning convection (SOC) along the upper branch is not found. The bifurcation properties, including the onset of convection and the saddle point, depend on the lateral flow.
