The reaction mechanism in a few nucleon systems is studied by using the coupled channel resonating group method (CCRGM). Both of the ^4He(p,d)^3He and t(^3He, d)^4He reactions are investigated by using the CCRGM with full exchange effects. Each of them is also examined by decomposing the reaction process into two or three processes, that is, neutron pick-up and deuteron pick-up processes in the ^4He(p,d)^3He reaction, and proton stripping neutron pick-up and residual (multi-nucleon transfer) processes in the t(^3He,d)^4He reaction. The results of the calculation in the exact case (CC) are compared with the results of the Born approximation (BA) with the same reaction and elastic kernels and local potentials as in the CC. The contribution of the channel non-orthogonality terms, which are neglected in the usual DWBA, is also investigated and is found to be large. The effect of CC is further studied with changing the coupling strength artificially.
