A Quantum Theory of the Rigid Body in Terms of a Two-Component Spinor

It is shown that the motion of the rigid body can be described very conveniently in terms of a two-component spinor. The advantage of this description over the usual one using the Euler angles is that in this description all expressions are written in a manifestly covariant form. Our discussion is mainly quantum mechanical and is restricted to the non-relativistic case.
