About 100 Junior high-school and high-schools situated in remote areas as well as four prefectures in Metropolitan area visit our three museums (Criminal Museum, Archaeological Museum and Commodity Museum) of Meiji University in group every year. We have made an inquiry research, because firstly coordination between schools and museums are presently watched with much attention in relation with adequate correspondence for "Comprehensive study hours" which was introduced in April, 2002 and secondly we think it necessary to know actual condition of their utilization of museums and grasp how they make visit. This inquiry research was executed for the period of June, 2000 through May, 2002 and 50 schools, a quarter of total number of schools which visited our Museums gave us back their answers. In the first half of this manuscript, answers for such inquiries as (1) What are sorts and purposes of visit ?, (2) Which specialized fields of each Museum are studied ?, (3) How many hours are spent for observation ?, (4) How often do you utilize museums, (5) Which school grade utilizes museums in your class-work ?, (6) In which course is visit of museums utilized ?, (7) What merits can you point out for your utilization of museums and (8) What kinds of services beside current ones do you expect to enjoy ? were analyzed and evaluated. In the second half, we have considered concerning the points on (1) importance of planning visit in advance, (2) role of staff-members of our Museums to assist visit of schools and (3) specific character of studies obtained through materials of museums, based on the results of inquiries and lessons felt in our ordinary works.
