• It is contended that Japanese subsidiaries in the U.S.A. fail to achieve the integration of American employees. This study examined the contention by focusing on the antecedents and outcomes of organizational commitment. A mail questionnalre survey was used to collect 103 responses from American employees working for Japanese subsidiaries in four states of the Southeast United states. The findings suggest that it is possible for Japanese subsidiaries to achieve the integration of American employees when certain conditions are met, and therefore the contention of failure for the integration of American employees cannot be accepted unreservedly.
