Little has been known what attributes of personality enhance the potentiality of becoming a good worker in international management for the Japanese. This study attempts to find what attributes out of the so-called synthetic personality inventory (SPI) account for each of four attributes which are considered to be desirable or not desirable when the Japanese engage in international management. The four attributes are chosen from the Intercultural Development Inventory that is designed to measure person's intercultural sensitivity. Questionnaire forms were used to collect data (N=298) from freshman students of a college during April 2001. Statistical analysis of the data showed that those who were social and ambitious would excel in cultivating the desirable attributes for international management, whereas those who were shy, asocial, less-aggressive, and slow-thinking would get behind. These findings fall in a range of common sense.
