Potassium polyaluminate (β<I><SUB>K</SUB></I>″-alumina) has been employed as a catalyst for CO shift reaction (CO+H<SUB>2</SUB>O=CO<SUB>2</SUB>+H<SUB>2</SUB>). The dependence of catalytic activity on the K<SUP>+</SUP> content was investigated. The initial reaction rate abruptly increased above 11 wt% K<SUB>2</SUB>O.
