New nitrosyls, [Fe(C<SUB>9</SUB>H<SUB>6</SUB>NO)<SUB>2</SUB>(NO)]<SUB>2</SUB>(C<SUB>9</SUB>H<SUB>6</SUB>NO<SUP>−</SUP>=8-quinolinolate ion), [Fe(C<SUB>10</SUB>H<SUB>8</SUB>NO)(NO)<SUB>2</SUB>] (C<SUB>10</SUB>H<SUB>8</SUB>NO<SUP>−</SUP>=2-Methyl-8-quinolinolate ion), and [Fe(C<SUB>9</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>NOCl)<SUB>2</SUB>(NO)(DMF)] (C<SUB>9</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>NOCl<SUP>−</SUP>=5-chloro-8-quinolinolate ion) were isolated by the reaction of nitrogen monoxide with a mixture of iron(II) perchlorate and the corresponding quinolinol in methanol or methanol/DMF. They were characterized by IR, <SUP>57</SUP>Fe-Mössbauer, and magnetic measurements.
