• 2,3,4,6-Tetra-<I>O</I>-benzyl-D-mannopyranose was prepared from methyl α-D-mannopyranoside. Improved preparations of 2,3,4,6-tetra-<I>O</I>-benzyl-α-D-glucopyranose and -galactopyranose are described.
