Lipoma of the hand are infrequent, especially in Japan. Two patients, recently operated on for this condition, were reported in this paper.Case 1 was a 59-year-old woman who complained of a painless swelling of the right palm and impossibility of thumb opposition. The swelling was increased gradually to its present size within 5-6 years, and since 1 year ago she noticed inability of opposition between thumb and fingers. Case 2 was a 71-year-old woman who complained of a tumor of left hand, first noticed 2 years ago. One month later, the tumor was increased in size causing limitation of closing between the thumb and the index finger.
