We report a follow-up study on two groups of patients with Kienbock's disease. Twenty-seven cases had been treated with tadial shorening osteotomy and fifteen cases had been treated conservatively. A questionnaire was sent to al patients checking for variance, stage, tenderness of the lunate, range of motion, grip strength, satisfaction with the operation and rehabilitation. At follow-up there was a marked improvement in both groups. But after sutgeny, lunate tenderness and grip strength (≤60%) were significantly more improved (p<0.05) compared to the group that had received conservative treatment.
