A case of nonossifying fibroma rarely found in the mandible is reported and the literature was reviewed. The patient was a 28-year-old man who had noticed slight pain and swelling in the left side of the mandible about six months before the first examination. The localized hard mass had been growning in size gradually. Radiographic examination revealed a dental crown-sized, ovoid, and well-demarcated radiolucent area in the lower border of the left mandible, with a feature of thin bulging of its bony cortex. Histopathologically, the specimen shows a presence of spindle-shaped fibroblasts and multinucleated giant cells in the swirling appearance of the fibrous connective tissue stroma, and there are no sign of bone formation.
