Cytotoxic Effects of Various Fractions Extracted from Pharmaceutical Insects and Centipede

This paper describes the cytotoxic effects of hexane, ethyl acetate, methanol and aqueous fractions prepared from fuscous ant, ground beetle, centipede, and of cantharidin from large blister beetle on the cells of the cancer cell lines L1210, P388 and SNU-1, in in vitro tests. The ethyl acetate fraction from fuscous ant, water fraction and ethyl acetate fraction from centipede, boiling water fraction from ground beetle, and cantharidin were found to be effective.
