In this essay, we have studied two points. One is the relation between the womanhood in Kojiki and in Confucian thought. The other is the opinion or view of the editors of Kojiki on the womanhood in Confucian thought. As the result, we can say that the editors recognized the womanhood in Confucian thought as the respectable moral, and when they edited Kojiki they tried to adopt its conception of the womanhood. In Kojiki there are pretty many stories that are colored up with it. We have pointed out some stories in which the conducts of the goddesses whose original nature seems to disagree with moral womanhood in Confucian thought are amended by the editors to meet Confucian moral. When the editors do not do so and allow them to behave naturally, it seems, there are some proper reasons. However, the latter part of Kojiki is almost the record of actual events with no regard to Confucian moral. Therefore, there are little special reference to Confucian thought. We have illustrated the above-mentioned one by one.
