The Conception of Death as seen in Kojiki and in Confucian Thought. In Kojiki death is viewed as lamentable and also as evil. In Confucian thought it is believed only that the dead should be mourned by their relatives and friends, and this determines the nature of the funeral. It seems that Kojiki has been somewhat influenced by this Confucian thought. The Solar Myth in Kojiki and in Confucian Thought. Just as the sun is worshipped as a god in Kojiki, so is it treated in Confucian thought. I think this is because Confucian thought and faith had considerable influence on Kojiki at the time when Japanese myths were assembled and arranged. I came to this conclusion after considering many different opinions and views. Stories about Birth in Kojiki and in Confucian Thought. Among the stories about birth by inspiration seen in Confucian text Shikyo (an old Chinese authology of Confucian writings) there are some which are quite different from those of the kind in Kojiki, but there are also some similar ones. I am, however, not certain whether the one has any influence on the other.
