An investigation into the level of satisfaction was made among home care recipients who make use of this welfare service at home. Such recipients were categorized by gender, age and illness. A survey, which divided the level of satisfaction into 5 levels concerning the actual contents of the welfare service being used, was conducted. As well, a further level regarding the relationship between family, friends, acquaintances and neighbors was also included in order to examine the existence of the role of the family in society, as well as the link between family and society. Among the survey results regarding the level of satisfaction of the welfare service for home care recipients, no one responded with, 'not really satisfied', or 'not satisfied.' As well, no relationship between such factors as the person's age, gender or illness with the level of satisfaction was observed. Furthermore, no significant difference was seen concerning the existence of 1) the role of the family in society and 2) the link with society. One factor between the connection of the level of satisfaction and use of welfare service is the noticeable difference in the relationship with such people as family, friends, acquaintances and neighbors. The result of this research project demonstrates two important factors: 1) that the relationship between the home care recipient and others is good and 2) the level of satisfaction of the use of welfare services. Thus, it is thought that a good relationship with others can be created by increasing the frequency of opportunities linking with family and society. Unfortunately with the onset of old age and in some way or other, various handicaps, the link between society, friends and acquaintances diminishes. One future project is to look at how to create an environment allowing for more opportunities for interaction with others as well as how to offer the most appropriate service.
