About the women of ripe age, We observed the conditions of the strain on the vegetable nervous system before and after the application of chloroform, 8.0c.c. -10.0c.c. of which were administered in every 25-30 minutes. At the same time, various symptoms were observed clinically after the application. The sensitive degree against pilokarpin (1% solution), atropin (0.1% solution) and adrenalin (0.1% solution) were respectively examined, while respiratory pulsus irregularis, skin reactions. Aschner's phenomen and the results of Tschermak's pressing test were observed. The following results were obtained. 1) After 24 hours of chloroform anaesthesia, the sensitive degree against the Vagus nervous poison such as pilokarpin and atropin was observed to make a progress. 2) Against the sympathetic nervous poison such as adrenalin, no Progress in the sensitive degree was observable. 3) After chloroform anaesthesia, respiratory pulsus irregularis, Aschner's phenomenon and skin reactions were observed in most cases. 4) From these results above stated it will be concluded that chloroform anaesthesia works progressively on the sensitive degree of the Vagus nervous system. 5) The symptoms such as nausea, vomit, headache, and poor appetite which are usually observed after an operation under chloroform were brought out in connection with the anaesthesia. Therefore, the fact that these disorders are related to a certain extent to the strain of the Vagus nervous system will be ascertained.
