The aim of this research is to examine the national culture of Japan and its impacts on organizational culture and corporate performance within the leading Japanese multinational companies in Japan. The main arguments are: (a) that national culture can affect organizational culture and (b) that national culture will influence corporate performance through changes in organizational culture, and (c) that organizational cultures are homogenous within one single national The research is designed to achieve four goals: (1) to identify the major components of Japanese national culture by determining the perceptions of the senior managers; (2) to explore main indicators of national and organizational cultures and corporate performance of the Japanese multinational companies;. (3) to develop a structural equation model to link national culture, organizational culture and corporate performance
