The temperature dependence of magnetic anisotropy and its change with crystallization have been studied, in order to clarify the structures of ferromagnetic metallic amorphous alloys of 19%B-Fe and 18%P-Fe. The magnetic anisotropy of the as-quenched state is discussed in connection with the saturation magnetization, saturation magnetostriction of the amorphous state, and the temperature dependence of the magnetic anisotropy of the crystallized state. It is concluded that the magnetic anisotropy of the amorphous state results from the crystallites and clusters of the constitutional metallic compounds. In the case of Fe-B alloys, the magnetic anisotropy constant K_u becomes maximum at the crystallization and decreases. For Fe-P alloys, a peculiar behavior is found that K_u changes its sign at the crystallization temperature, and changes its sign again. These results can be understood phenomenologically in terms of the rearrangement of crystallites and clusters.
