H. N. Swamy^<(1)> made a few remarks on our previous research^<(2)> on absorption spectrum of toluene. His remarks may be summarized as follows : 1) The present authors noted that the bands were shifted towards shorter wave-length with the fall of temperature, while the photometer curves showed the shift towards longer wave-length. There were some discrepancies between the explanation and the curves. 2) The present authors showed five bands in liquid state in the photometer curve, while Swamy observed seven bands. 3) The present authors showed seven bands in solid state, while Swamy obtained only one broad band.
